The History Of Shiny Objects
Shiny Objects was developed from the popularity of glass jewelry by glass artist Jason Thiemann. Jason had
the desire to showcase the largest glass jewelry selection on Sanibel and Captiva Islands (tropical islands
located in southwest Florida) in his glass art gallery, and according to some now showcases the largest glass jewelry selection in
all of Florida!
The name "Shiny Objects"
was actually chosen by our customers. When Jason decided to expand his retail glass art gallery and separate
his glass jewelry collection into the space next door to his original gallery, there was only one catch - even though they
were right next door to each other, two "separate" businesses couldn't have the same name. With less than
24 hours until his grand opening, Jason simply asked "What do customers say when they walk into the gallery and look
at our glass jewelry?" Shiny Objects was born!
We have been in business since 2000, and we pride ourselves on providing customers with the best-quality and most
unique products and top notch personalized service as part of the Shiny Objects Experience. We look forward to the opportunity
to earn your business!
About The Artists
Jason
Thiemann is a second generation glass artist whose career began at the world famous MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in fabulous
Las Vegas. It was during his live glass blowing demonstrations that Jason had the opportunity to be observed and
advised by some of the best glass artists in the world. Following the operation of a family owned glass gallery and
his own wholesale operation, Jason decided to once again venture into retail with the opening of his glass gallery on Sanibel
Island in beautiful southwest Florida. Jason enjoys designing new jewelry and art glass items as well as teaching others
- especially his sons!
Tyler is the oldest of the third generation of glass artists. While he has taken a
hiatus from glass to attend college, Tyler enjoys working with glass during his breaks from school. Tyler's glass talents
include marbles and dichroic glass. Tyler is a sophomore at Warner Southern College in central Florida majoring in pre-law
and English. Tyler's other interests include music and acting.
Kevin is the youngest family member to
take up glass art. Kevin's glass art includes pendants and characters - and, of course, character pendants.
Kevin's work has been exhibited at galleries and retail art shows throughout the country. Kevin is a junior
at Elk Grove High School. Kevin's other interests include football, track and field (discus) and taekwondo.
